Wellness/Swedish Massage: A wellness massage incorporates long slow strokes, kneading, and gentle movements to create a session that is both nurturing and extremely relaxing.
Deep Tissue: A deep tissue massage is great for relieving tension and pain in your body. Communication is important during a this type of session because when deep tissue is preformed correctly, it may be intense, but will support a place of healing through release in the body.
Craniosacral Therapy: Craniosacral Therapy is a deeply relaxing, hands-on technique that focuses on the bones of the head, spinal column, sacrum, and the underlying tissues. A Craniosacral therapist has learned to listen to the rhythm of the cranial sacral system to assess and treat the body. Using about five grams of pressure with gentle techniques the therapist can release areas of restriction to restore proper mobility and body functioning.
Prenatal Massage: Receiving massage by a prenatal massage therapist is a wonderful way to treat the body and mind. A therapist certified in prenatal massage is skilled in the changes that occur in the woman’s body and knows how to adapt the massage to meet her needs. Prenatal Massage relieves pain and discomfort associated with pregnancy and promotes relaxation for the mother, in turn providing a calm environment for the baby. It is a great time for mom to connect with her baby and ease herself into a peaceful state of mind.
Labor Massage: Touch and massage during labor not only helps a women cope with discomfort it is also shown to shorten labor and reduce the need for intervention. By decreasing anxiety, pain, and fatigue a women tend to have an increased self-esteem and confidence in her mothering abilities and is more likely to breastfeed successfully.
Postnatal Massage: Postnatal massage is wonderful way for a women to take time to honor her self by unwinding from the daily stress of caring for a new baby. A relaxing postnatal massage can help a women rebalance her body as she adjusts to the emotional and physical changes within her post-birth. Postnatal massage soothes sore muscles, supports healthy lactation, aids in fluid reduction, cramping, and encourages pelvis structural integrity. A happy mama is a happy baby!
CST for Pregnancy: Craniosacral Therapy during pregnancy gives women time to relax and to connect with her baby. Crainosacral therapy can address the uterus and alignment of the pelvis to provide more room for the baby to assume a proper position for birth. Nausea, fatigue, constipation, backache, hip, ligament pain, and sciatica are some of the other common issues cranial sacral therapy can help bring relief.
CST for Postpartum: After your baby has arrived much of your time and energy is focused on caring for your infant but it is just as important to honor your body as you adjust to new discomforts associated with birth, and infant care. Whether you are recovering from pelvic floor tears, cesarean surgery, hemorrhoids, muscular pain, mastitis, insomnia, or postpartum depression CST facilitates healing and helps to restore balance within the body.
Injury/Myofascial Therapy: The goal of injury massage is to interrupt the pain/stress/tension cycle to help you become pain free. The practitioner will asses your body for twisting, tilting or rotation due to muscular imbalance and/or skeletal deviations and then help restore your bodies proper muscular alignment. Treating both chronic and acute discomforts, injury massage can help reduce your pain, inflammation, scar tissue, muscle spasms, muscle atrophy due to casting, and muscle contractions.
Sports Massage: Sports massage is typically used before, during, and after an athletic event or work out to increase flexibility, mobility of the joints, and to reduce muscle stiffness. Receiving a sports massage allows the body to speed up its healing process and reduces the chance of a sports related injury.
Structural Integration/Connective Tissue: Structural integration focuses on the thin layer of fascia or connective tissue that surrounds your muscles. Through the use of long deep massage strokes, structural integration can help release a shortening or tightening of fascial adhesion's and thus restore proper structural alignment.
Thai Yoga Massage: Thai yoga massage is a unique treatment preformed on a mat on the floor in which both client and practitioner are comfortably dressed to allow for ease of movement and flexibility. The client is guided through a series of poses to increase both flexibility of the muscles and mobility to the joints. Along with these yoga poses the practitioner uses firm rhythmic pressure along the body’s energy or Sen lines and pressure points to relieve muscular tension, improve circulation, and boost the immune system bringing the body into balance.
Trigger Point Therapy: Trigger Point Therapy is a highly effective way to alleviate chronic pain and dysfunction due to stress and trauma of the muscles. The therapist applies firm pressure to trigger points or knots in the muscle fibers or fascia to eradicate tender areas in the tissue. This therapy can be intense as the therapist is stimulating an area that is already irritated however, you will most likely notice an immediate sense of relief as the trigger points release and let go.
